Philosophy
Dr. Farahnik is passionate about discovering and treating the root cause of illness. He believes that one of his primary roles as a physician is to empower and educate patients, to collaborate on developing sustainable and accessible treatment plans, grounded in evidence informed medicine. He found naturopathic medicine many years ago after the conventional healthcare system failed to discover and address his chronic health issues. In realizing and experiencing the power of a holistic and integrated approach to medical care that helped bring him back to health, he knew this was his calling.
Education and Training
Dr. Farahnik graduated from five years of study at Bastyr University in 2022. During that time he completed advanced training with experts in the fields of Naturopathic Neurology, Environmental Medicine, Naturopathic Gastroenterology, and Men’s health. He is also a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild, and has been practicing as a Clinical Herbalist and East Asian Medicine Practitioner for over ten years.
Dr. Farahnik is currently completing a Master’s of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Washington, with a focus on epidemiology and biostatistics. He has been working alongside Dr. Laurie Mischley since 2018, seeing patients with and conducting research in Parkinson’s disease.
Clinical Specialties
While he is trained and capable as a Primary Care Physician, he has expertise in the following areas:
- Neurodegenerative conditions (Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis)
- Environmental medicine (Heavy metals, molds, and other toxic exposures)
- Digestive wellness (SIBO, IBS, IBD, reflux, constipation, microbiome, food sensitivities, etc.)
- Men’s health and hormones
- Chronic infections, inflammation and fatigue (long COVID, EBV, allergies, autoimmunity, thyroid and adrenal health).

Insurance
Dr. Farahnik is a preferred provider for the following plans, though we recommend verifying with your insurance company to ensure he is covered on your plan.

Dr. Farahnik is not able to bill insurance for visits when the patient is located outside of Washington State during the visit. Superbills for reimbursement are offered upon request for patients located within the state of Washington.
